Kathleen 'Kitty' Moore

SALISBURY - Mrs. Kathleen "Kitty" White Moore, of Salisbury, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014.

Born May 3, 1924, in Boone County, W.Va., Mrs. Moore was the daughter of the late Burton White and Nora Jarrel White. She graduated from Scott High School in Madison, W.Va. She was a graduate of Charleston School of Commerce, Brevard Community College Institute of Banking and Morris College of Real Estate, all in Melbourne, Fla

Mrs. Moore was a Sunday School teacher, worked with the Scouts and 4-H. She was treasurer of Vanoy Sells Women's Auxiliary of Rockwell; a member of the Magnify Choir of Mooresville; and a member of the Kanawha County Secretary Association.

She worked for DuPont Co. for 12 years in Belle, W.Va.; Kanawha County schools as a secretary for 12 years; National Bank of Melbourne, Fla., for four years; and Rowan Memorial Hospital for 10 years from which she retired in 1989.

Mrs. Moore was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church and the Ladies Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Moore, who passed Nov. 6, 1997; and brothers Velmer and Douglas White.

Those left to cherish her memory are daughter Lanta Moore Casto of Salisbury; sons Roderick Moore of Fayette, Mo., William D. Moore Jr. of Hickory; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Visitation will be held 10-11 a.m. Thursday, May 15 at Summersett Funeral Home. Service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Summersett Memorial Chapel with Pastor Anthony Wike of Gospel Light Baptist Church officiating. Entombment will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.
