Norman C. Wilson

CHINA GROVE - Mr. Norman Clark Wilson, 80, of China Grove, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Born Jan. 22, 1934, in Gaston County, to the late Anna Estelle Clark Wilson and John Hayden Wilson, he attended Lexington schools. Mr. Wilson was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War.

He was an auto mechanic and owner/operator of China Grove Texaco.

Mr. Wilson attended First Baptist Church of China Grove.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Julia Dennis Wilson, on July 25, 2013; and sons Harry and Johnny Stokes.

Surviving are daughters Julie Wilson Henderson and husband Dan of Kannapolis, Norma Wilson Honeycutt and husband Mark of China Grove and Dr. Ann Wilson Davis and husband Mark of Burlington; daughter-in-law Sherri Coble Stokes; special nephew and niece Dennis and Sandra Raper; sister Delores Wilson Norris of Tarboro; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Sunday (June 8) at First Baptist Church Family Life Center of China Grove. The graveside service and burial with military honors will follow at 3 p.m. Sunday at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Salisbury, conducted by Rev. Steve Wilson.
