WOODLEAF - Mr. Bill Harrison Smith Sr., 84, of Woodleaf, passed away Sat-urday, June 14, 2014, at his residence.
Born Aug. 9, 1929, in Iredell County, Mr. Smith was the son of the late Emma Flo-rance Hen-dren and Adlie Har-rison Smith.
Mr. Smith was educated in Alex-ander County, after which he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a truck driver for 20 years and for Fiber Industries for 20 years. He also enjoyed working in his small engine and lawn mower repair shop.
He was a member of Gay's Chapel United Methodist Church.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Lois Faye Goodman Smith; and great-grandson Logan Scott Rabon.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Bill Harrison Smith Jr. of Salisbury, Barry Dale Smith (Pam) of Salisbury, Brian Wayne Smith of Salisbury; daughter Roxanne Smith of Woodleaf; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Arrangements: Visita-tion will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 16 at Summersett Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 17 at Gay's Chapel United Meth-odist Church. Burial with Military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
