Harvey L. Broadway

SALISBURY - Mr. Harvey Lee Broadway, 81, of Salisbury, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House.

Born July 15, 1932, in Rowan County to the late Nellie Hopkins Broadway and John Adam Broadway, he was educated in Rowan County schools and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Broadway retired from Cannon Mills and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death was his son, Kenneth Alan Broadway, in 1952.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Thelma Broadway; sons Mike Broadway and wife LeeAnne, Darrell Broadway and wife Debbie; daughter Judy Clippard and husband Rick, all of Salisbury; sister Mary Ann Chunn of Florida; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday (June 25) at Summersett Funeral Home.

Service: The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at Summersett Memorial Chapel, conducted by Rev. Darrell Worley. Burial will follow the service at Rowan Memorial Park.

Memorials: May be made to New Hope Baptist Church, 830 Choate Road, Salisbury, NC 28146.
