SALISBURY - Bobby Ray Miller, 68, went to be with the Lord Saturday, July 5, 2014 at his residence following an extended time of disability.
Born June 26, 1946 in Rowan County, Bobby Miller was the son of the late Raymond Cecil Miller and Marie Leazer Miller. He graduated from North Rowan High School.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Silver Miller, whom he married June 4, 1972; two sons, Kris and Nathan Miller of Salisbury; sisters, Barbara Jean Karriker (Steven) of Salisbury and Shirley A. Hathcock (Clyde) of Concord; two grandchildren, granddaughter Mahaley R. Miller, grandson Judah B. Miller; and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Bob's occupation was a meat cutter. He worked 10 years at A&P Food Store and retired after 20 years with Food Lion. He worked at the Lutheran Nursing Home in Maintenance for six years. He had been disabled for about 9 years.
Visitation: 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at New Hope Baptist Church, 830 Choate Road, Salisbury, NC 28146.
Services: 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014 following visitation. The pastor Darrel Worley and Jimmie Childers will officiate. Burial will follow at Miller Family Cemetery, 5435 Wildwood Drive, Salisbury, NC 28146.
