Vance D. Bowers Jr.

KANNAPOLIS - Vance Dixon Bowers Jr., 59, passed away Monday, July 7, 2014, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.

Vance was born on Dec. 16, 1954, in Richmond, Va., a son of Vernice Ferguson Bowers of Kannapolis and the late Vance Dixon Bowers Sr. He worked in commercial construction and later was a caregiver to his son.

Vance was a member of the Sunshine State Vintage Motocross Club.

In addition to his mother, Vance is survived by his wife, Brenda Niles Bowers; two daughters, Amie Lou Bowers Florence and Amanda Lee Bowers and Josh Dunnington, both of Orlando, Fla.; son Vance Dixon Bowers III of Kannapolis; sister Debra Bowers Cleary of Winter Park, Fla.; brother Thomas Bowers of Floral City, Fla.; two grandchildren, Kaidence Lacie Florence and Radley Randall Dunnington; and many nieces and nephews.

Service: A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 12 at Powers Drive Baptist Church in Orlando, Fla. Dr. Jerald Hicks will officiate.
