REIDSVILLE - Marion Sowers Grogan, 82, of 1418 Richardson Dr., Reidsville, went to be with the Lord Saturday July 12, 2014 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.
A native of Salisbury, she was a daughter of the late Sidney Otis Sowers and Addie Eula Cauble Sowers Kirk. She lived in Reidsville most of her life. She attended Lenoir-Rhyne College and was a graduate of Rowan Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Marion had worked at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital, Annie Penn Hospital and retired from Maplewood Nursing Home in Reidsville. Throughout her career, she also did private sitting. A faithful member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, she was a member of the North Star #308 Order of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin E. "Buddy" Grogan; two daughters, Tina Evette Grogan and Cynthia Gail Grogan; sister, Doris S. Porter; and brother, Sidney Sowers.
Survivors include daughters, Deborah G. Irving (Bobby) of Madison and Linda G. Younts (Phillip) of Thomasville; and grandchildren, Chad and Lauren Irving and Jacob and Kaylee Younts.
Service:Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday July 14, 2014 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Greenview Cemetery.
Visitation:The family will see friends 2-3 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2014 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and at other times will be at the residence.
