Darline 'Dolly' Sigman
The Guest Book is expired.
CHARLOTTE - Darline "Dolly" Macie Jacobs Sigman, age 86, of Charlotte, went to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior in Heaven, on Sunday, July 13, 2014. She had resided in Charlotte with her daughter, Judy, and her grandson, Daniel, until her passing.
She was born Aug. 7, 1927, in Rowan County and was the youngest child of the late Charlotte Livengood Jacobs and Baxter Lewis Jacobs.
A loving and devout Christian, Mrs. Sigman was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church, where she supported her church and loved her life following the Lord Jesus Christ. Mrs. Sigman will be remembered as a kind and generous Christian who wanted nothing for herself; but everything for her family and friends. She loved reading her Bible, feeding hummingbirds, family outings and working seek-and-find puzzles. Her passing will leave a void in many lives.
Preceding her in death was her devoted husband of 47 wonderful years, James William Sigman Sr., who passed away on July 22, 1994; her six sisters; and four brothers, who she loved dearly.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, James William Sigman Jr., of Denver; daughters Judy Darline Sigman of Charlotte and Pamela Jean Sigman McDowell of Belmont; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Arrangements: Family and friends will gather on Thursday, July 17 from 2-3 p.m. at Summersett Funeral Home in Salisbury and a celebration of life service will be held at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel. A graveside service will follow at Oakdale Church Cemetery in Spencer, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband. Mulberry Baptist Church Senior Pastor Dr. Larry Burns will be officiating.
Loving thanks are given to her daughter, Judy; grandson Daniel William Cooke; granddaughter Laura Elisabeth Sigman; son James; daughter-in-law Dena; family friend Destinee Yarborough; and Hospice and Palliative Care members for the care and support given during her time of need.
Daughter, Judy would like to sincerely give thanks to the family and friends who supported her with numerous calls, prayers, messages, food, and visits showing her their care and love during her mother's illness. A special thank you to the members and special groups of Mulberry Baptist Church and the Hospice & Palliative Care team who were always there when she needed them. To my son, Daniel and his girlfriend, Destinee; brother and sister-in-law James and Dena; and niece Laura, thank you for your constant help, guidance, patience, and the many hours spent helping with Mom's care. Everyone's kindness and love will not be forgotten. May God bless each and every one of you.
