SALISBURY - Dean Edward Troutman, 50, of Salisbury, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Sept. 2, 1963, in Rowan County, the son of the late Betty Lewis Troutman and Burnie E. Troutman. He was a 1981 graduate of North Rowan High School.
Dean retired after working 30 years as a scale inspector for the NC Department of Agriculture. He was Baptist by faith.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved animals.
Dean's favorite companion, his dog "Fat Baby," passed away recently.
Left to cherish his memory are sisters Barbara Troutman Bruce and husband Mike of Naples, Fla., and Greensboro and Debbie Troutman Ippolito and husband Chris of Salisbury; nephews Jeff Bruce and wife Ginger of Greensboro, Rob Bracken and wife Belinda of Salisbury; nieces Lindsay Bruce of Naples, Fla., and Angie Shaw of Lexington; nine great-nieces and great-nephews. Dean was also a great-great-uncle.
In addition to his family, he will be missed by many friends and co-workers.
Celebration of Life: 1 p.m. Saturday July 19 at Community Baptist Church, 320 Calhoun St., Salisbury, NC 28144 with the Rev. Keith Mason officiating.
