Edith G. Cranfield

SALISBURY - Edith Graham Cranfield, 101, of Salisbury, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, at The Laurels of Salisbury.

She was born June 26, 1913, in Rowan County, the daughter of the late Mary Bell Graham and James E. Graham.

Edith was a seamstress at Leisure Lads and Dolly Madison and a member of Friendship Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her husband, Willie L. Cranfield; daughter Mary R. Smith; granddaughter Jeannette King; sisters Alma Christie, Azile Bogle and Helen Safrit; and brothers James and Johnny Graham.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Rev. Billie Cranfield (Jean) of Concord, Jimmie Cranfield (Peggy) of Kannapolis; daughters Lorene Macemore (Oland) of Jonesville and Polly Miller (Jerry) of Stanley; brother Glenn Graham (Betty) of Salisbury; sister Margie Bogle (Edward) of Salisbury; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was a great mother, grandmother and a blessing to all.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 355 E. Ridge Road, Salisbury, NC 28144.

Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6 at Bethel Lutheran Church with Rev. Billie Cranfield officiating. Burial to follow at Rowan Memorial Park Chapel in the Pines, 4125 Franklin Community Center Road, Salisbury, NC 28144.
