Dear Mrs. Welch and Chas,
My heart is very heavy as I have just read of your husband/dad's passing. My daughter, Deidre Brown, had the privilege of having two years preschool under you, visiting your home, and going to high school with Chas and the group one year at prom. Your family was dear to us and I always enjoyed each time we ran into each other through the years and quickly catch up on the children. He was always so respected by all who knew him and was such a gracious gentleman. I'm so sorry I didn't know of this in time to pay my respects to him and the family in person. May God be gracious to you and give you his divine peace. May the precious memories you hold most dear be of much comfort to you.
My Respect and Friendship Always, Janet Brown, Salisbury

Dear Mrs. Welch,
You hold a special place in the memories we have of our children's early years. You were always placed on a pedestal as one of the world's most loving and gifted preschool teachers. The children continue to do well and we are proud of their accomplishments. You helped guide them for two crucial years. We will always be grateful for the positive impact you made on their lives. We were sad to hear of Mr. Welch's death. Running into the two of you from time to time was such a pleasure. We pray that God will comfort you during this time. Sincerely, Sarah Schiemann and Family--Mark, Elizabeth, Catherine, Rebecca, and Joshua

Charles has without a doubt moved onto a better place, however, the amount in which he will be missed is unmeasurable. I remember him standing tall with that cigar dangling from his mouth and shouting every inning of every All-Star little league game we played. His contributions to his family, his community, and personally to me will never be matched or forgotten.

I've known Charlie for 45 years. I grew up playing baseball with him and sometimes against him. He was a very tough competitor, yet always managed to be a Gentleman. I shall miss you, old friend.

The last time I talked to Charlie was at my Aunt Mary Anne Woodson's funeral earlier this summer. Charlie was a pall bearer.
We hadn't spoken in years, but it was just like we'd seen each other the day before. A wonderful fellow. Prayers to the family.
