Odell 'O.C. ' Osborne KANNAPOLIS - Odell Clyde "O.C." Osborne, 79, of 1012 Cadillac St., went home to be with the Lord Sunday (Oct. 30, 2005) at Five Oaks Manor. Born March 15, 1926, in Kannapolis, Mr. Osborne was a son of the late A.O. and Laura Jane Keller Osborne. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served during World War II. Employed with Fieldcrest Cannon, he retired after 47 years working as a supervisor in the machine shop. Mr. Osborne was a lifelong member of Memorial Methodist Church and long-time member of Kannapolis Country Club. He was preceded in death by brother Edward Osborne; and faithful canine companion Sheba. Survivors include wife Grace Rufty Osborne; daughter Linda Ann Osborne of Kannapolis; and brother Jack Dwight Osborne and wife Betty of Kannapolis. Service : 3 p.m. Wednesday at Whitley 's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. R.J. "Beaver" Hammonds and the Rev. Otis Snow officiating. Burial will be at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. Visitation : 1-3 p.m. Wednesday at Whitley 's Funeral Home. Memorials : Memorial Methodist Church, 1100 W. "C" St., Kannapolis, NC 28081; or Charity Baptist Church, 2420 Brantley Road, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
