James Horace Bostian

CHINA GROVE - James Horace Bostian, 76, of China Grove, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. His death follows a period of declining health.

Mr. Bostian was born Jan. 24, 1936, in Rowan County, a son of the late H.B. and Florence Freeman Bostian. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Sue Bostian, and two sisters.

Mr. Bostian served in the U.S. Navy and was an over-the-road truck driver for most of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Wilhelm Bostian; three sons, Roger Bostian (Barbara) and Michael Bostian (Sonya), both of Salisbury, and James Bostian of California; four daughters, Wanda Prince (Darrell) and Brenda Bostian, both of Salisbury, and Robin and Tammy Bostian of California; three brothers, Claude, Harold and Larry Bostian, all of Salisbury; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Service and Visitation: Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4 at Whitley's Funeral Home main chapel with Rev. Rick Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, Feb. 3 from 6 to 8 p.m.
