Watson 'Sonny' Crider

KANNAPOLIS - Mr. Watson "Sonny" Eugene Crider, 74, passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at Tucker Hospice House of congestive heart failure.

Mr. Crider was born on Aug. 19, 1938, in Concord, the son of Ruth Krimminger Crider and the late Edward Watson Crider. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Crider retired as the co-owner and operator of Watt & Son Automatic Transmission Shop in Kannapolis. His favorite hobby was fishing.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, David Moore.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Crider is survived by his wife, Virginia Moose Crider; three daughters, Kaci Sweat and Shane Gulledge of Kannapolis, Traci Wease and husband Dustin of Concord and Staci Moore of China Grove; sister Joyce Wingler of Mooresville; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Service and Visitation: A funeral service is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. His nephew, Steve Cashion, will officiate. The family will receive from 2 to 3:45 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Lady's Funeral Home & Crematory, 268 N. Cannon Blvd., Kannapolis, NC 28083, to aid with funeral expenses.
