Mitchell Lynn Austin

CHINA GROVE - Mr. Mitchell Lynn Austin, 57, passed away Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at his home.

Mr. Austin was born on Aug. 26, 1955, in Cabarrus County, a son of Sarah Grimes Austin of China Grove and the late Thurman Varnallis Austin. He was formerly employed with Frank's Auto Service as a mechanic.

Mr. Austin enjoyed wood working, playing poker, liked fishing and spending time with his family.

In addition to his mother and sister, Mr. Austin is survived by his wife, Leigh Dudley Austin of Denver; daughter Cheryle Wood and husband Ryan of Salisbury; sister Pamela A. Gordon of Garner; and granddaughter, Claire Wood.

Service: A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 9 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Keith Dudley will officiate.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 at the home of his sister, Angela Soden, 520 Daugherty Road, China Grove, NC 28023.

Lady's Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family of Mr. Austin.

I AM SO GLAD THAT I GOT TO KNOW MITCHELL AND WE WILL MISS HIM ALOT.WE LOVE YOU ALL AND MAY GOD KEEP YOU SAFE IN HIS ARMS. Aunt Gwen, Angela, and Pam, I wish I had the words to express my sympathy and to comfort you but words are so inadequate at a time like this. Mitchell was a great guy and he will be missed. This is such a difficult time for you but I hope you can take comfort in the loving memories that you have and in the knowledge that you will see him again.
