LINWOOD - Mr. Doctor Richard "D. R." Rabon, 74, of Rabon Trail, Linwood, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at his home after several months of declining health.
Mr. Rabon was born Oct. 15, 1938 in Rowan County to Ernest Richard Rabon and Mary Elizabeth Trexler Rabon. He retired from Celanese in Salisbury and was a veteran of United States Army. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church and the Spencer Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Ribelin Rabon, of the home; his sons, David Richard "Richie" Rabon of Linwood and Dennis Rabon and wife Margaret, of Lexington; his daughter, Darlene "Renay" Holbrook and husband Randy, of Linwood; his mother, Mary Elizabeth Trexler Rabon of Salisbury; his brother, Arthur Bruce Rabon and wife Dot, of Salibury; his sisters, Joyce Azalee Arrington and Lorraine Trexler and husband Tommy, all of Salisbury; his grandchildren, Tiffany Field, Randy Page Holbrook Jr., and wife Rachel, Nathaniel Rabon, Sarah Rabon, and Brett Rabon; and his great-grandchildren, Jackson Field and Paelyn Field.
Service: 2p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 at Lakeview Baptist Church, by the Revs. David Wooten and Buster Pigg. Burial with military rites will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of the daughter on Rabon Trail, Linwood.
