Kenneth Paxton Slusser, Jr.

SALISBURY - Kenneth Paxton Slusser, Jr. Ret. Major, 82, of Salisbury, passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks.

Born Friday, March 14, 1930, in Richmond, Va., he was the son of the late Kenneth P. Slusser, Sr. and Helen Nora Slusser.

After graduating high school in New Jersey in 1947, he joined the United States Air Force. He attended Officer Candidate School at Lackland AFB in Lackland, Tex., and went on to serve his country for 21 years. He retired from the United States Air Force as a Major on Dec. 31, 1968.

After his retirement Kenneth was a private business owner. He was of the Lutheran faith and very active in his church in Panama City, Fla.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife Nancy Ann Wilbur Slusser on Feb. 27, 1999 (they were married Sept. 9, 1951); son Kurt Slusser; and brother Mike Slusser.

Those left to cherish his memory are son Mark Slusser and wife Victoria of Salisbury; grandson Jason Slusser and wife Kim and great-granddaughters Caitlyn and Alayna; granddaughter Lora Griffin and husband Nathan and great-granddaughter Madalinn; grandson Kyle Slusser, all of Salisbury; and brothers and sisters Earl Hall, Ron Slusser, Sylvia McMahon, Mary Soriero, Barbara Walsh and David Slusser.

Service: The family will hold a service at later date in Panama City, Fla.
