Stephen Ray Weddington

SALISBURY - Mr. Stephen Ray Weddington, 62, of Salisbury passed away on Jan. 25, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice in Winston Salem.

Born on April 3, 1950 in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Ray Weddington and Cora Belle Rymer Weddington.

He was a graduate of South Rowan High School and Rowan Technical Institute with a concentration in textile engineering. He was a former member of Mt. Zion United Church of Christ, where he served as deacon and elder. Mr. Weddington was a supervisor at Tuscarora Mills and China Grove Textiles for forty years. He was an avid golfer, hunter and a loving father.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Cora Weddington Dellinger (McKinnon) of Asheville; son Michael Ray Teeter Jr. of Statesville; brother Don Weddington (Gayle) of Salisbury; nieces Brandi Boling (Shawn) of Salisbury and Ashley Snipes (Daniel) of Mebane.

Visitation and Services: Visitation will be on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in Landis with funeral on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion United Church of Christ, with Rev. Mark Burns, minister. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
