SALISBURY - Mr. George Thomas Kluttz Jr., 90, of Salisbury, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at W.G. Hefner VA Medical Center.
Born Aug. 17, 1922, in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Martha Overcash Kluttz and George Thomas Kluttz. Mr. Kluttz was a graduate of Boyden High School and worked as a service technician for Brown Heating and Air.
Mr. Kluttz served in the U.S. Navy as a ship fitter for several years. He was also a previous member of the Historic Train Society.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Helen Goodman Kluttz; son George W. Kluttz and wife Phyllis of Salisbury; daughters Susan Goodman and husband Ricky of Salisbury, Sally Hellard and husband Ron of Rockwell, Janie Lane and husband Spencer of Salisbury, Donna Mahaley and husband Rick of Salisbury; grandchildren Mark Angell, Leigh Ann Sidelinker and husband John, Tabatha Stewart and husband Billy, Chris Walker and husband Eric, Chad Moss and wife Nicole, Sherry Peeler, Beverly Thompson, Kelly Kluttz, Ryan Mahaley and wife Jessica, Tyler Mahaley, Abby Lane; numerous great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation and Service: Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 31 from 1-2 p.m. at Summersett Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. in Summersett Memorial Chapel. Burial with Military Honors will be conducted at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
