SALISBURY - Samuel Milton Floyd, 76, of Salisbury, passed away Feb. 1, 2013, at his home.
He was born June 6, 1936, in Florence, County, S.C., to the late Eddie and Ruth Webster Floyd. Mr. Floyd graduated from Lake City High School, Lake City, S.C. He served 23 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring March 1977.
He was married to the love of his life, Joyce Amelia Floyd, for 55 years until her passing in July 2012: Now love is reunited.
Those left to cherish his memory are son Samuel Timothy Floyd and wife Glenda of Salisbury; daughter Tamela Joyce Floyd Honeycutt and husband James of Salisbury; sisters Linda Fisher and husband Floren of Jacksonville, Fla., and Ruby Moore of Anderson, S.C.; grandchildren Kristin Lester of Salisbury and Amanda Honeycutt of Salisbury; great-grandchildren Brianna Honeycutt, Dallas Boliner, Riley Lester and Madilyn Lester; and those he opened his heart and home to and loved them as his own, Ricky Morris, Brenda McCubbins and Samantha Houston; along with extended family and friends.
Service: Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 7) at Summersett Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Max Mills officiating. Burial will follow at the U.S. National Cemetery.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Summersett Funeral Home.
