Junior Lee Jorden

ROCKWELL - Mr. Junior Lee Jorden, 86, of Rockwell, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks in Salisbury.

Mr. Jorden was born on Aug. 11, 1926, to the late William Franklin Jorden and Clara Stricker Jorden.

Mr. Jorden attended Rowan County schools and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1944 to 1946.

He worked for 43 years at Cannon Mills as a loom fixer and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. In 1964, he had his home built on Johnson Dairy Road and he loved to fish.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Louis, Clarence, John and Ralph Jorden; and sister Cordell Cline.

Mr. Jorden is survived by his wife of 65 years, Doris Eller Jorden; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at Powles Funeral Home Tuesday, March 19 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Service: The funeral service will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Wednesday, March 20 at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Bruce Sheeks, pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military graveside rites.
