SALISBURY - Mrs. Suzanne vander Linden Hall, 91, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013.
Born June 30, 1921 in Hendersonville, she was the daughter of Floride Bowden Morris vander Linden and William Harrison vander Linden.
Mrs. Hall was a graduate of Hickory High School, class of 1937 and also Lenoir Rhyne College, class of 1941 where she earned her BA degree in Childhood Education. In 1941 she came Mt. Ulla, for a teaching interview and taught there from 1941-1944. In 1956 she taught at Woodleaf Elementary School where she retired in 1978. After retirement, she volunteered at the WG Hefner VA Medical Center library and delivered Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Hall was a member of John Calvin Presbyterian Church. She was an avid reader and loved flowers and gardening.
Preceding Mrs. Hall in death along with her parents are her husband, Joseph W. Hall who passed away in 1991, brothers, William Harrison vander Linden and Frank Morris vander Linden.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Joseph W. "Bill" Hall Jr. (Rosemary); daughters, Emily Hall Chamberlin (Kurt) of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Martha "Marti" Ann Hall Miller (Lonnie) of Midlothian, Va.; sister, Emily King vander Linden Williams; grandchildren, Jeffrey Chamberlin of Las Vegas, Nev., Joseph "Jay" Hall III. (Jennifer) of Clayton, and Brian Miller of Raleigh; great-grandchildren, Joseph "Will" Hall IV and Zachary Hall; step-grandchildren, Lt. Col. Nick Petrone (Chris) of Vandenberg AFB, Calif., Paula Davis (Paul); step-great-grandchildren, Isabella Petrone and Dalton, Piper and Evan Davis.
Service: Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2013 at Third Creek Presbyterian Church cemetery in Cleveland with Rev. Kellie Browne officiating.
