William Fisher Sr.

GRANITE QUARRY - William Edward Fisher Sr., 83, of Granite Quarry, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 8, 1929, the son of the Ruby S. Vannoy and Francis Oliver Fisher. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a POW of Vietnam.

William worked in construction as a brick contractor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Franklin D. Fisher and Jim Fisher.

Those left to cherish his memory are son William Edward Fisher II; daughter Dianna Fisher Turner; nephew Ray Deal of Spencer; and sisters Jerrell Ann Fisher and Sue Eller of Granite Quarry.

Visitation: The family will be receiving friends for a Labor Day dinner at 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 2 at 214 Peeler St., Granite Quarry, NC. 28146. Please contact them at 502-210-3263 for more information.

Graveside Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3 at the Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC 28144 with the VA chaplain officiating. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Lyerly Volunteer Honor Guard.
