Bobby Cress Obituary
SALISBURY - Bobby Eugene Cress, 82, of Salisbury, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 14, 1932, in Davie County, the son of the late Nellie Martin and Luther Cress.
Bobby was an automobile salesman. He was a member at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where he served on several committees and was a former Sunday School teacher, a member of Sunday School Class 5 and a member of the Friendship Club. Bobby was a Boy Scout leader for a number of years.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brother Bill Cress; and sisters Sue Coble and Norma.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carolyn Earnhardt Cress of Salisbury, who he married on Jan. 23, 1954; son Bobby E. Cress Jr., (Patricia) of Salisbury; daughters Cheryl Cress Palmer and Andrea Cress Mounts (Brad), both of Salisbury; sister Dot of Charlotte; grandchildren Ricky Murphy Jr. of Salisbury, Bonnie Cress of Charlotte and Cory Cress of Salisbury; great-grandchildren Jordan Murphy and Kelsie Murphy.
Visitation: 10-11 a.m. Thursday, March 6 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 205 St. Paul's Church Road, Salisbury NC 28146.
Service: 11 a.m. Thursday, March 6 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Floyd Bost officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials: St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Helping Hands Ministries, 205 St. Paul's Church Road, Salisbury, NC 28146; and Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care, 720 Grove St., Salisbury, NC 28144.

So sorry for your loss Carolyn.. I knew Bob for many years. We were in Scouts together when my children were young and then he was a Monitor on my bus for several years...I'm sure he will be missed....You and the family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Carolyn I am sorry to hear of your loss. Bob was quite a fellow. He sold several vehicles to my husband Bob and I. I don't know if you remember me. Bob worked with Grady at Norandal. Bob passed on Christmas Eve. If you need to talk just call me.
