Flora Reid Obituary

Flora G. Reid, 85, of Kannapolis passed away March 31, 2017 at Big Elm Retirement and Nursing Center. She was born Aug. 27, 1931 in Madison County, Ga., to the late Grace R. Campbell. Flora worked at Cannon Mills for 38 years, she enjoyed going out to eat fish and going to Sonic for a hot dog, she was extremely proud of her children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Reid in 2012; her daughter, Wanda Jill Morris in 2013; her sister, Carol Garmon in 2016; and her brother, Lane Stribling in 2016. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Terry Reid and his wife Carolyn of Kannapolis; sister, Helen Ross of Kannapolis; three grandchildren, Thomas Reid, Jonie Johnson, and Chad Morris; and seven great-grandchildren. Service: Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, April 2, at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randall Ritchie officiating, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Visitation: Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, April 1, at Whitley's Funeral home. The Reid family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Big Elm for their loving care and compassion. Memorials: Memorials may be made to Cabarrus Co. Hospice and Palliative Care, 5003 Hospice Ln. Kannapolis, NC 28081. Online condolences maybe made at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com.
