Dear Barbara:

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother especially during this time of the year. I rejoice with you for having had the many years you did with her as I have just spent Christmas with both of my parents and truly cherish each opportunity I get. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Barbara and Carol,
Thank you for contacting me a few weeks ago. I'm so glad I got to see Mrs. Callahan one final time. As I said during my visit, she was like a connection to my grandmother who raised me and who was also best friends with your mom. My only regret is that I did not visit or write more often over the years. At least now Mrs. Callahan can watch down on us from Heaven while spending time with my grandmother after all these years. She's in a better place. I will pray for you and your family during this time of sorrow. Love,

Carol and Barbara,

Just want you to know how sorry I am for your loss. But you know even though there is sadness in lossing your Mom. There is great joy in all of this. Heaven has received a great lady. You had her for a long time and now God says I need her. In all of my days I have never seen anyone as close to a saint as your Mother was. God bless you in your grief and know that she is with the Lord.

Barbara & Carol,

Words can't say enough about losing your mother. What a wonderful person she was. She gave so much of herself and was loved by many. What a shining example of what God wants from his children. She was such a great example. Her love for the Lord was so evident and I know now she is in his loving hands. May the fond memories continue to stay in your heart. You were very lucky to have her with you for so many years and she was very lucky she had great daughters to take care of her. You both gave so much of yourselves. You are and will continue to be in my prayers. Love to you both.

THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EACH ONE WHO HAS TAKEN THE TIME TO WRITE OR CALL OR DO ANY THING TO HELP EASE OUR PAIN. THIS IS GOING TO BE A CHRISTMAS OF BITTER SWEET , KNOWING MOTHER IS CELEBRATING CHRIST BIRTHDAY AT HIS SIDE , HELPS TO EASE THE PAIN SOME. SHOPPING FOR THOSE THINGS SHE USED TO HELP WITH AND SEEING ITEMS SHE WOULD HAVE DELIGHTED IN IS VERY HARD. HOPEFULLY OUR PAIN WILL NOT BE SO GREAT AS SHE SUFFERED SO TERRIBLY AT THE END AND IS IN HEAVEN WHERE SHE LONGED TO BE.MOTHER WAS A SAINTLY WOMAN WHO LOVED HER CHILDREN AS GOD HAS LOVED US. I PRAY THAT WE ALL WILL BE ABLE TO CARRY ON IN HER MEMORY AND ALWAYS INSPIRE OTHERS TO LIVE AN EXAMPLRY LIFE. HER LEGACY WILL GO ON FOR GENERATIONS AND SHE WILL BE LOVED ALWAYS BY THOSE WHO KNEW HER AND THOSE WHO HAD ONLY HEARD OF THIS GODLY WOMAN.

To those of you who took the time to write, we are certainly appreciative. You don't know how meaningful a card, note or jesture is until you face something of this magnitude. To all our friends may I say, thank you for your loyalty and your tribute to Mother. The poem of Minnie Louise Haskins expresses it best, ... 'Go into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God; that shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way' With Love, Barbara Mauney

Dear Barbara and Family,
I am thinking of all of you at this time. I pray that fond memories of Grandmother give you strength during this sad time. I loved her so much and will miss her tremendously. I am thankful that you were there with her and that she was not alone. You did an amazing job of taking care of her, keeping her spirits up, making her comfortable and giving her all that she needed. I hope that my daughters will be as good to me as you were to her. Grandmother was the most Godly woman I have ever met and by far one of the sweetest. She will be missed. I love you and will continue praying for you and your family. As always, I am here for you.
