Nancy King Childers

ROCKWELL - Nancy King Childers, 69, of 156 Kings Farm Drive, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at Hospice House.

Born Oct. 30, 1938, in Cabarrus County, Mrs. Childers was a daughter of the late Wade W. White and Margaret Wilcox White. Retired from Cannon Mills Co. Plant 1, Sheet Department, she was a member of West Point Baptist Church, where she had been a Sunday School teacher, helped with AWANAS and the Sunshine Group.

She loved baking, cooking, gardening and always loved helping other people.

Mrs. Childers was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerry King, and her second husband, Roy Childers.

Survivors include son Jeffery King of Rockwell; daughter Janet King Stancil of Rockwell; brother Ellis White and wife Mary Jo of Kannapolis; grandsons Jared Stancil and Josh Stancil; stepchildren Janice Edwards and husband Lewis, Joan Sullivan and husband John and Excell Grass and wife Shirley; sisters-in-law Jane Honbarrier and husband Ronnie and Myra Bost and husband Gene; six step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; and 10 nieces and nephews.

Service: 3 p.m. Sunday at the Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel in Kannapolis with the Rev. Gene Bost and the Rev. Terry Brown officiating. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park.

Visitation: 6-8 tonight at Whitley's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home.
