Mar. 3, 1923 ~ Dec. 15, 2014 Lynn Lake known to his family and grandchildren as Boulder passed away on December 15, 2014 in Kenosha Wisconsin at the age of 91. He is preceded in death by both parents Ralph R. Lake and Fay Walker Lake and older brother Don Lake. He is survived by wife Bernice Lake, Kenosha, WS, his sister Carole L. Baker (Frank Baker) Salt Lake City, UT, his three children Larrie Lake Adamson (James W. Adamson) Camano Island WA, Robert L. Lake (Linda R. Lake) Springfield, VA, Don G. Lake Long Beach California. Lynn enlarged his family when he married Bernie in 1986 who had three children Tom Poss (Pam Poss) Bountiful, UT Bill Poss (Natalie Poss) Bainbridge, and WA. Pam Weber (Timothy Weber) Kenosha, WS, seven grandchildren, and later in their marriage 10 great grandchildren. He married Maxine Greer just before he enlisted in the U.S. Navy World War 2 from 1942-1945 aboard the USS Callaghan. After the Navy he and Maxine lived the quintessential middle class family life. He made his living for many years as a salesman in Twin Falls, Idaho before returning to Salt Lake City to open his own caulking business. All three of his children have very fond memories of growing up under his credence. He was a good father and anyone who was lucky to have him as a friend knew he would give them the shirt off his back if they needed it. He divorced Maxine after 37 years of marriage. He was married to Bernie for the past 28 years. He spent many days fly fishing streams and rivers throughout Southern Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah. He made fishing poles and tied flies for anyone that wanted one. He hooked up the trailer and off he and Bernie would go. He had many hunting dogs throughout his life. Even into his 80s he would pack up his truck with gear and head out with his buds on a hunting trip. He was the camp's cook and there was nothing like waking up to Lynn's bacon, eggs, fried potatoes and black coffee. Lynn Lake was a real man's man. As he would say I am Lynn Lake and don't you forget it. Well will miss you Dad. There will be a second announcement of the grave dedication and memorial in the spring of 2015. Instead of flowers Bernice would like contribution sent to the local Alzheimer's Association at 855 East 4800 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84107.

McKendrick, Lillian Gladys - Salt Lake City
1926 ~ 2014 Lillian Gladys McKendrick left peacefully from her home bound for heaven on December 12, 2014. Lillian was born the eldest daughter of Ira Harris Watters and Arizona Cooper Watters on January 6, 1926 in Oneida, TN. A lady full of fire and spirit, Lillian was one of a kind. She was many things to those who were touched by her spirit: loving wife, mother, grandma, sister, and mother in law to her family; art teacher, Avon lady and dear friend to many others. Lillian loved nature and animals. Her artwork reflected her appreciation of the beauty she found in nature. She was talented at oil painting, flower arrangements, decorating, and had a stylistic eye for fashion in her day. All those whom were lucky enough to know her will miss Lil, her sweetheart and husband of 53 years, Richard, perhaps most of all. God sent us all an angel to love, live and laugh with for 88 wonderful years, and now he has called her home. At Lillian and Richard's request, services will be held with immediate family and close friends. She will later be interned with and rest together with her husband. Lillian we all love you so!

Norseth, Kerry - Salt Lake City
Kerry T. Norseth (Big K) 5/30/1951 ~12/13/2014 Kerry died in the evening on Saturday, December 13, of lung cancer in Durango, Colorado where he has lived for the last several years. Big K was a talented guitar player and songwriter and was composing lyrics to a new song about dying up until the day he fell asleep and didn't wake up again, titled "On the Verge". He made his living as an accomplished and professional pin-spotter mechanic and bartender for most of his life. In his much younger days he was an excellent baseball player, hunter and fisherman. He also excelled in the sport of bowling and made up for it with his always amusing rounds of golf. Both on the golf course and working on machinery, Kerry perfected the art of cursing to new heights, even creating his own swear words as the old standards simply couldn't convey his frustration. He could whip off a blues song on the spot and frequently did. Always dabbling in the occult, he promised to visit from the other side in our dreams. He will live on in our memories as the practical joker and gentle, misunderstood soul that he was. Throughout his life he walked to the beat of his own drummer and always managed to find the path of most resistance. He is survived by his son; Adam (Camdon) Norseth, SLC, Utah; Mother, Dorothy Norseth, Bountiful, Utah; sisters, Laurel (Larry) Fowler, Centerville, UT.; Sally (Dave) Askman, Woodinville, WA.; brother, Rory (Fay) Norseth, Millcreek, UT; nieces; Brandy; Katy; Amy and nephew; Christian and many grand nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald C. Norseth and his paternal and maternal grandparents. No services will be held at this time. The family will host a celebration of his life at a later date. So tip a glass (or fire up a smoke) to Big K. His mother requests that if you don't smoke, don't start, and if you do, quit now.

Parr, Rela - Midvale
Rela Mae Spratling Parr 1920 ~ 2014 On December 18th, 2014, while waiting to return home from rehab, mom got a better offer. Her Heavenly Father called her Home to be reunited with her beloved husband, family, and friends. After living on earth for 94 years, Mom graciously and peacefully accepted. The daughter of William Parley Spratling and Amelia Daisy Steadman, mom was born September 7th 1920 in West Jordan, Utah. The oldest daughter of eight children, she lived the life of a farmer's daughter. From milking cows, stacking hay, and other agricultural labors, she developed a strong work ethic. Mom attended Jordan High School, graduating in 1936. At age 19 she purchased and operated a popular beauty parlor in Midvale. While in High School she met and dated her future husband, Donald James Parr. The couple was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on September 17th 1941. Shortly after their marriage, our parents moved to San Francisco, California where dad worked in the shipyards. These were times fondly remembered. Their first child was born during this time. As one of the last members of The Greatest Generation, mom kept the home fires burning when dad volunteered to serve in WWII and fought throughout Europe as an infantryman. Mom loved family life and had an intense, lifelong interest in the lives of all of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews. Mom was an active member of the L.D.S. church. Perhaps her favorite calling was the Cultural Refinement Instructor in Relief Society. As she studied, we experienced many foreign food and music adventures. As Relief Society President, she developed close relationships with the women she served. During their retirement years, mom and dad enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada. They spent many hours square dancing with friends and acquaintances as they traveled. During later years, she became an avid Utah Jazz fan, an interest she shared with her sister Carol and daughter Beverly and her family. Wherever she traveled and lived, she made lasting friendships. She will be missed by many. She is survived by 5 children: Randy (Belva), Don Jay, Brent, Beverly ("BJ") (Kortney), Ryan (Becky), daughter-in-law Vauna Parr, 18 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, sister Coleen, and brother Calvin. She was preceded in death by her husband; both parents; brothers, Delwyn and Max; sisters, Dorothy, Maxine, and Carol; and great granddaughter Elaina Parr. Thanks for everything mom and for your help when it was most needed (in spite of the tuna fish casserole)! We express sincere thanks to the residents and staff at Legacy House Assisted Living in South Jordan, Utah for their love and expert care these past 8 years. Special thanks also to Dr. Ted Schultz for his kind and competent care. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 11:00 a.m. with a preceding viewing, 9:30 a.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street, Midvale, Utah. Interment will be at the West Jordan City Cemetery, 7800 South 1300 West. www.goffmortuary.com
