Carter, Johnie G. - Salt Lake City  
Johnie G. Carter 4/2/1929 12/20/2014 Johnie passed away on December 20th, 2014 in Salt Lake City. Born April 2nd, 1929 the daughter of John Gray and Euradell Stewart Johnson in Benton, Louisiana. She was a loving mother, grandparent, and devoted school crossing guard. Her leisure interest was bowling. She was inducted into the Great Salt Lake Bowling Association 2013-2014 Hall of Fame November 1, 2014. She is survived by her son Jerry Carter III; grandchildren Mikala Whittaker, Talisa and Jermaine Lignell; five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brother David Johnson Jr; and a host of friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her daughter Sharon Carter; sisters Mary Gates Robertson and Dorothy Johnson Grant. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 30th at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church, 1090 S. State St., Salt Lake City, where a viewing will begin one hour prior to services. Chapman, Bette T. - Murray  
Bette T. Chapman 11/29/1933 ~ 12/18/2014 Bette Bliss Tidwell Chapman, the youngest of six daughters, was born to Walter Raymond and Ivie Claire Allred Tidwell in Eureka, Utah. Bette attended Granite High School and married her high school sweetheart, David B. Chapman, who preceded her in death. She was a devoted wife and mother of four children who adored her. Bette had a career in banking. She was a member of Credit Women International, serving a term as president of the organization. Bette was a lovely and loving person who welcomed adventure. She loved to travel, hike, dance, yoga, exercise, garden and read. She loved her family and delighted in her grand and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed lasting friendships and made friends wherever she went. Bette selflessly served and cared for others for much of her life. She leaves behind her children, Robyn (Gary) Jensen, Julie (Dennis) Watson, Casey (Paula) Chapman, Cindy (Ernie Lee) Myers; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews and many friends and grand-dogs. Much appreciation to the staff of Care Source Hospice for the quality care she received. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Bette's memory to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Memorial services will be on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, Murray.

Dawson, Douglas Paul - Murray  
Douglas Paul Dawson 2/6/1970 - 12/25/2014 Live Well-Love Much- Laugh Often Doug was born on February 6th, 1970, the second of five children. Growing up, he was inquisitive, intelligent, and fun loving. Doug had a great sense of humor, and loved life. From trying to fish for the neighbors St. Bernard with hot dogs, to running two marathons later in life (Park City / Big Cottonwood.) He participated in Cross Country, Track and Field and Drama at Murray High School, where he graduated. He attended University of Utah, and graduated from Weber State with a degree in Psychology. He never stopped seeing red, GO UTES! Doug loved helping people and loved his career in caring for those with disabilities. He would come home saying "I helped my homies today!" He sought after their best interest, and fighting for the 'Able Act', which excitedly passed this December. Later, he became a certified Fire Marshal. Doug loved family time with his kids and granddaughter. He enjoyed playing video games all night, spending 4 hours at a buffet. On one occasion, he tried his hardest not to laugh as one of his kids broke the water dispenser at the restaurant. On December 22, 2012, he married Josephine and had never been happier. He gained a new partner in crime, his new step daughter Anabelle. Some of their favorite activities included swimming, dancing and causing mayhem at home. He had a deep love for music, never missing a Utah performance for his favorite band, Depeche Mode. Doug had a great sense of humor, and loved to play pranks on anyone who left themselves open. He will be greatly missed. Doug is survived by: Josephine Dawson (wife), Dayne Dawson (son), Lexi Dawson (daughter-in-law), Dalyn Dawson (son), Anabelle Mays (step daughter), Dahlia Dawson (granddaughter). His parents, Joanne and Paul Dawson, Dennis and Kathy Dawson; his brothers, Scott Dawson, Brian Dawson, Mike Dawson; his sister, Megan Dawson; and many step siblings. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Elis M. Dawson, Robert and Colleen Judd. Viewings will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, from 6-8 PM, and 12:00-12:45 PM prior to funeral services on Wednesday, December 31st at 1:00 PM. at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Chapel, 4760 South State Street, Murray, Utah. DeYoung, Joanne Clark - Bountiful  
Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away Thursday, December 25th. Joanne was born September 17, 1931 to William James and Ellen Geneve Clark. She attended South High School. She married Joe DeYoung on May 12, 1957 with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. Joe passed away on December 7th, 2007. They spent their married life in Bountiful and Centerville. They loved family vacations and especially loved their trips to Mexico. She retired from ZCMI in 1999. She was a great cook, and was always trying out a new recipe. She sewed, crocheted, read and believed that everyone should have a "hobby". She loved her family and especially enjoyed her great-grandchildren. She was a member of the LDS church and was sealed to her husband in the Ogden Temple in 2008. During her final years, she faced a tough battle with neuropathy, which made it difficult to walk and to do the things she enjoyed. She is survived by her children; daughters, Katy Bianchi, Layton, Alison (Tony ) Leiker, Layton, and son Cory (Syd) DeYoung, Farmington, grandchildren, Kara, Candace, Alex (Corinne), Ashley, (Jared), Kelly (Brian), Casey (Cassie), Ashley, and Hayley (Josh). She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Ava, Ryker, Kale, Drake, Max, Reese, Lauren, Presley and Harper. She is preceded in death by her husband Joe, her sisters, and her brother. We would like to thank Dr. Sam Wilson, the wonderful staff at Envision and Heritage Place for their loving care of our mother and grandmother. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday January 3rd at 11:00 am at the Bountiful Cemetery. Online guest book at www.russonmortuary.com . Eberhard, Ronald Duane - Riverton  
Ronald Duane Eberhard 1942 - 2014 Ronald Duane Eberhard, 72, passed away on December 22 surrounded by the family that loved him. Ron is survived by his wife, Stella and six children: Michael (Debbie), Kathleen (Michael) Ricks, Robert (Kim), Stefanie (Rob) Joseph, Jennifer Ashment, and Bill, as well as his brothers Charles (Diane), and Gary (Dorine). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and Tasha, the family's beloved cocker spaniel. Viewings will be held at 6-8pm, Monday 12/29 and 10am Tuesday, 12/30 at the Hunter 17th Ward, 3740 S. 6400 W., WVC, UT. Eggett, Lucille - Saint George  
1925 ~ 2014 St. George, Utah-Lucille Stratton Eggett passed away December 18, 2014 at Emeritus at Cliff View. She was born February 20, 1925 in Aberdeen Idaho to John Walter Stratton and Ada Madsen. She married Boyd Delmar Eggett in Elko, Nevada on February 14, 1953. Lucille moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where she finished her high school education at Granite High School. Although initially quite shy coming from a small rural community, Lucille blossomed into a fun loving young woman. Enjoying music, dancing and friendships of the "big city" of Salt Lake. Lucille gained a lot of attention for her red hair and sense of humor. She loved dressing in the latest fashion and loved working for Dr. Ross, a local pediatrician as the general office helper, until the time of her marriage to Boyd Eggett. Afterwards she devoted herself as a wife and then a mother, when Boyd and Lucille adopted their daughter Peggy Ann Eggett on December 31, 1958. Lucille had the opportunity to travel a lot with Boyd and Peggy. They especially enjoyed yearly trips to Hawaii. Later Boyd and Lucille enjoyed the "Snowbird" lifestyle in their RV with many other friends and family. Eventually settling in St. George, Utah. Lucille is preceded in death by her husband Boyd, sisters; Arvella and Winnona and brother Wendell. Lucille is survived by her daughter, Peggy Ann Elk and her husband James Wight of Washington, Utah. Granddaughter Arwen Ek and great grandson Jimmy Greer of Nederland Colorado, and grandson Severin Ek of Seattle, Washington. Graveside services will be held Friday, December 26, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Tonaquint Cemetery, St. George, Utah. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Pine View Mortuary, (435) 986-4222.

Fisher, LaVon Mary - Magna  
LaVon Mary Fisher 1920 ~ 2014 Magna-Our beloved Aunt, LaVon Mary Fisher, passed away December 23, 2014 while having been surrounded by her family. She was born June 24, 1920 in Midvale, Utah to Michael and Teresa Rose Levstik Fisher. LaVon retired from 1st Security Bank as a teller after many years. She had a loving spirit that permeated into everyone she came in contact with. LaVon was a devout Catholic and played the organ at Mass for over 50 years at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. She was a God Mother to many including "Evelyn Miller". She had a very giving and loving heart. LaVon was a wonderful aunt and each nephew and niece felt as if they were each her favorite. LaVon will be deeply missed by everyone that knew her and loved her. The family would like to thank the staff at Legacy House of Taylorsville and the Aspire Hospice for all their loving care. LaVon is survived by her Nephews and Nieces; Neil (Barbara) Fisher, Dolores (Dick) Vance- Korger, Evelyn Miller, Narve (Kathy) Dilley, Paul (Pam) Dilley, Ken (Sue) Dilley, Dennis Dilley. Flores, Jesus L. - Midvale  
Jesus L. Flores "Chuy" In loving memory of Jesus L. Flores, "Chuy." He left our side on December 23, 2014, due to heart complications. Born on February 19, 1930 in Dinkyville, Bingham Canyon, Utah, where he was born and raised to Juan G and Inocencia M Flores. On June 6, 1947, he married ElVera Rubalcava. Married for 48 years, through the good times and the bad, they found they could not live with each other and in the end, they could never live without. Together they had three daughters: Carmen (Gilbert) Gutierrez, Connie (Richard) Duran, Debra (Gabriel) Villarreal. He retired after 39 years from Kennecott Copper and through his later years he served as a security guard. He was a determined, strong willed man who always left a permanent impression. Survived by his children; seven grandchildren, Carla, Felicia, Gilbert Jr, Richard Jr (Neeley), Muriah (David), Gabriel Jr, Mario (Yesenia), thirteen great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Juanita, Estella, Martha, Irene, Mary Louise, Esperanza, Angie, Zenaida, Fernando, Juan Daniel, Richard, and Michael. Preceded in death by both parents; wife, ElVera, and granddaughter, Consuleo. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, 624 W. Lennox St., Midvale.
