Shellenberger, Mary Rita - Taylorsville  
Mary R. Shellenberger 1929 ~ 2016 Mary Rita Shellenberger, 86, of Murray, Utah, passed away on September 23, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mary was born December 24, 1929 in Murray, Utah to Floyd Henry Shellenberger and Mary Elva Crompton Shellenberger. Mary was the middle child, nestled between two brothers: Lloyd Henry Shellenberger and Herman Alvie (Alva) Shellenberger. Mary worked for years at the Salt Lake Donut Shop where she gained a love for recipes and baking. Mary enjoyed people and loved to spend time with good friends. She was rarely self-indulgent, but she never scrimped on generosity to her friends and family, as they were most important to her. They will miss her willful personality and wry sense of humor. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and brothers. She is survived by her nephews, niece, and many loving friends. Services will be on Thursday, September 29, 2016. There will be a viewing at 10:00am at the McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Rd., Salt Lake City. A graveside service will be held at 11:30am at the Murray City Cemetery, 5490 S Vine St, Murray, UT.

Smith, Kay Gwen Deverall - Riverton  
In Service to Others Draper, Utah. Kay passed away on September 23, 2016 after a long illness. She was born February 11, 1939 in Salt Lake City to Lester and Florence Deverall. She grew up in Taylorsville and was the oldest of three girls. She married Nolan Smith in 1957. Together they had three sons and spent most of their married life in Draper. Kay lived a life in service to others. She was a relief society president for the LDS Church and was a PTA president for Jordan School District. She taught Sunday school at the Draper 2nd Ward Church and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was always willing to volunteer her time and her artistic talents to her community. She will be most remembered for her decades of work at Draper Elementary as a Resource Center Aide. She loved working with special needs children to help them overcome their learning disabilities. Kay is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Florence Deverall. She is survived by her husband, Nolan, their three sons, Steven (Kim), Randy, and Kevin and her sisters Lynn (David) Getz and Dorothy (Richard) Petersen. She also leaves behind 3 grandsons (Greg, Jason, and Ryan), and 3 great grandchildren (Nicole, Logan, Raegan). Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 29 at 11 A.M. at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 S. 2200 W., Riverton, UT. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 P.M. at the same location and one hour prior to services. Interment at Draper City Cemetery. www.broomheadfuneralhome.com

Whetman, Clell B. - Midvale  
Clell B. Whetman 1929 ~ 2016 On Sept. 24th, 2016, our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, Clell B. Whetman "Whitter" (87) quietly returned to his Heavenly Father and was reunited with his 'sweetheart' Donna Mae. He was born May 5, 1929 in Sandy, Utah to Raymond and Eugenia Whetman. He married Donna Mae Jenkins on Sept. 26, 1958, and was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS temple. From an early age, Whitter was "born to be a baker." It was a career that fed his nurturing spirit. He loved serving and taking care of others. We will miss his stories, his sense of humor and his love of life. He took great pride in so many things, including his family, friends and yard. He had a special fondness for gardening. Whitter spent the majority of his life in Midvale, and finished the last ten years residing in St. George, Utah. Clell is survived by his children, Vance (Eileen) Whetman, Sherry (Ronn) Cordova, Matthew (Aimee) Whetman, Mitchell (Dustie) Whetman, 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Mae, his parents, 5 siblings and his son Terry Ray Whetman. Funeral services will be Saturday, Oct. 1st, 2016, at 11 am at Midvale 5th Ward Stake Center, 8171 S. Jackson St. (225 E). Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 pm at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. Williams, Angela Sue - Salt Lake City  
"Anj" 1965 ~ 2016 Salt Lake City, UT -Anj passed away unexpectedly on September 25, 2016 in Salt Lake City, UT. She was surrounded by her loved ones. Anj was born in Salt Lake City and attended Woods Cross and Brighton High Schools. Anj loved spending time with her children, many friends and family. She also enjoyed travel, cooking, reading, and water aerobics. Anj adored animals and attended the Bel Rea Institute of Animal Technology for veterinary technician training. Anj is survived by her parents, Susan Greenburg Hendry and Ted James and Cheryl Williams; children, Mackenzie Elyse Twitchell and Brayden James Twitchell (Sally Atkinson); granddaughter, Arianna Jean Twitchell; granddog, Atticus Finch Twitchell; siblings, Marnie Williams Farcone (Jerry) and Eric Mardell Hendry (Jill); and three nephews and two nieces. Anj also leaves behind the love of her life, Wayne Schipper and her beloved polydactyl cat, Dax. Anj was preceded in death by her stepfather, Marty Hendry. Anj's bigger than life spirit, beautiful smile and wittiness will be GREATLY missed by everyone who knew her. A celebration of life will be held on September 30, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, UT. Valet service is available on the north side of the building. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Best Friends Animal Society.

Young, Kurt Lee - Sandy  
Kurt Lee Young 1921~2016 Kurt Lee Young, 94, on the birthday of his beloved late wife Eloise, September 22, died in Sandy, UT. He survived heart bypass surgery in 1990 and later prostate cancer, but regressed with dementia the last eight years. Kurt was born December 29, 1921 in Huntington, Utah, to Lee E. and Addie K. Young. He married Eloise Ruth Johnson December 15, 1942, in Reno, NV. Their almost 70 year marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He was raised in Huntington, Utah. In 1940, his family moved to Ephraim, Utah where he graduated from high school. Kurt joined the National Guard in 1939 and was called to active duty in 1941 and served in the U.S. Army until October 1945. He graduated from Carbon College. He was recalled to active duty in June 1951, during the Korean War and served until June 1953. Kurt was employed by the Air Force as a small business procurement specialist. He later served as state director of the Small Business Administration. He retired in September 1973, after 30 years of Federal service. He served on numerous public service boards and six years as an elected Washington County Commissioner during the 1980s. He was a member of the LDS Church where he served as a bishop and as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake and St. George temples. Kurt is survived by his sister Nelda (Elmer) Berger, Salt Lake City, three living children, Kimball (Laurel), Salt Lake City, Katherine (James) Hulse, Draper, UT, Nanette Hopkinson, Las Vegas, NV, seven grandchildren, Emmalee, Meredith, AnnMarie, Miles, Becky, Shad and Marci, and 16 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother, sister, a daughter, Pamela, and great grandson, Alex. A viewing will be held in Kurt's honor Thursday, September 29, 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Garden Mortuary, 1950 East Dimple Dell Rd., (10600 South) Sandy, and a graveside service will be conducted Friday, September 30, 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers take your family to dinner.

Froisland, Jeffrey H. - Riverton  
Jeffrey H. Froisland "Papa" Our loving husband, father, and grandpa was called home on Sept. 24, 2016 following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Nov. 12, 1957 in Murray, Ut to Walter H. "Frosty" Froisland, Jr. and Beverly Jeffries Froisland. He married Debbie Pullman, Feb. 23, 1975 and later solemnized in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple on June 4, 2011. He owned and operated a successful drywall business for 27 years and was currently serving as a Correctional Officer for the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office, a job he truly loved. In his free time he loved to be outdoors, golfing, working in the yard, and being "Mr. Fix-it", but most of all he loved his family and spending time with the apples of his eye, his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years; son, Bret (Shannon) Froisland and daughter, Katie "Daddy's Girl" (Josh) Schreiber; 5 precious grandchildren, Maren, Bridger, Brooks, Allie and Maddie; sister, Stacy (Dennis) Belcher and brother, Dan (Melinda) Froisland. Preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, Bret. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Sycamores 4th Ward, 7580 West 7980 South, West Jordan.
