Barbara Moss Hatch, 87, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2012.
She was born April 30, 1925, in Salt Lake City, the daughter of Robert Alvin and Afton Eldredge Moss.
After graduating from Davis High School, Barbara attended Utah State University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and was affiliated with Chi Omega Sorority. While attending Utah State, she met and married her sweetheart Gerald S. Hatch on Sept. 2, 1947.
She was a past employee of Northwestern University
of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, and of the Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. She served as Volunteer Director of Weber County Hospital in Roy for 12 years.
Active in community affairs, Barbara was president of the Chareya and Altruist Clubs. She also served as Director of Volunteers at the YCC of Ogden for 12 years. Barbara dedicated a great portion of her life giving service to the people and causes she loved. Proud of her heritage, she was also a member of the DAR and DUP.
Barbara was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in a variety of callings.
She will always be remembered by her children and grandchildren as one who loved to organize family activities and trips.
Barbara is survived by her three daughters; Janet (Paul) Eastman of Willard, Jane Ann Bitton of Ogden, and Sydney (Kelly) King of Bountiful, 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and her brother Robert E. (Cleo) Moss of Bountiful.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald, son H.G., parents, and sister Jane Hatch Chambers.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Family will meet with friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment will be at the Logan City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Your Community Connection of Ogden.
