Bobby William Moore of Salem, Utah, passed away February 20, 2014 from injuries following a car accident. Bob was born January 26, 1927, in Midway, Utah, to Hannah Elizabeth Christensen and James Eden Moore. The family moved to Provo, Utah a few years later and Bob attended school there. He joined the U.S. Army
in 1945 and was with the first occupation troops in Japan. He was stationed in Utsonomiya and Yokohama. He attained the rank of sergeant in the Army. He was recently awarded the medal for serving in The Pacific Theatre from The Commonwealth Of The Northern Mariana Islands. Bob graduated from Radio Institute in Sale Lake City in 1950. He then went to work for Central Utah Electronics Supply in Provo, where he worked for many years until retiring. Bob married the love of his life, Jean Mirth Jorgensen, on March 12, 1947, in Provo. They made their home in Salt Lake City until they moved to Kearns. Bob and Jean were thrilled to become parents on March 19, 1950 when their son, James Eden Moore, was born. Bob was a loving father and supported Jamie in his sports activities and other interests. The family moved to Provo, where they bought a house built in 1905, that Bob worked very hard on its restoration. Bob and Jean later moved to their Salem home, where Bob spent many hours enjoying the view of Salem Pond. He had a deep love for dogs and always had at least one. Bob was a dog's best friend. Bob loved gardening. He raised huge vegetable gardens for years that were so bountiful that many friends, neighbors and family benefited from his labors. Nothing went to waste. His other great pastime was camping. After purchasing mountain property in Argyle Canyon, many, many trips were made there with Jean, Jamie, and many other family and friends. Bob loved his time there, so much!
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jess; his sister, June; and his beloved wife, Jean. He is survived by his son, Jamie; his granddaughter, Brittney; great-granddaughter, Kara; his brother, George W. Moore (Lucille) and many extended family members.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Salem City Cemetery, 130 East 965 South, Salem, Utah. Prior to services, there will be visitation for family and friends from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 26th, at Walker Funeral Home, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah.
