Carol N. Adams

Carol N. Adams 1930 ~ 2006 Carol Noreene Gout Adams passed away peacefully July 8, 2006 surrounded by her husband and family. Hers was a valiant 20-year battle to live for her children and grandchildren. Carol was born December 25, 1930 in Salt Lake City the daughter of Ima Russell and Dirk Gout. She was raised in the Salt Lake area and graduated from East High School. She served for many years in the Cub Scout program both as a Den Mother, Den Mother's Coach and as a first counselor to her Cub Master husband. She married Gary E. Adams April 11, 1951. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She was her children and grandchildren's constant advisor and supporter. She welcomed her children's friends into her home, her refrigerator, and her always well stocked goodie cupboard. Carol was known far and wide for her scrumptious pies and chocolate ‚clairs. She was a lifelong, active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her husband and her family will sorely miss her. She is survived by her husband; and children, Lou Ann Butler, of Murray, Mark G. Adams, (Janice), of Vancouver, Washington, Kathleen Richards (Gary) of Houston, Texas, Kristine Adams, West Jordan, Steven A. Adams (Patricia) of Henderson, Nevada; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters, Maria Blackham, Suzanne Brown, May Zumpano, Letitia Rogers, Richard Gout, John Gout, and Fred Gout. Her parents and three sisters, Anna Tucker, Grace Harry, and Barbara Fallon, preceded her in death. The family would like to thank Dr. Clyde Ford and the nurses and technicians in the Oncology Department of the Salt Lake Clinic who were so kind and talented in helping Carol through these trying times. Funeral services will be held 12 noon Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at the Chevy Chase Ward, 5235 South Wesley Road (1100 East). Friends may call at Jenkins and Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, Murray from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2006 and for one hour prior to the service. Internment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South. In lieu of flowers the family suggest a contribution to the American Cancer Society.
