Cecil Max Martin

1918 ~ 2013
Cecil Max Martin, age 95, passed away on August 16, 2013 of complications incident to age at Fillmore Community Medical Center. He was born June 26, 1918 to Cecil J. Martin and Beatrice Elizabeth Quarnberg. He married Olive LaVoy Wilcken for time and all eternity in the Logan LDS Temple on May 15, 1946.
Max served for two years in the Texas/Louisiana Mission and is a World War II veteran. He worked as a Park Superintendent at the Utah Territorial State Capital building and served as president of Utah Museums Association.
He is survived by his loving wife, LaVoy, of Fillmore; His four daughters: Janet (Dave) Tisdale of St. George; JoAnn (Bill) Mikelson of St. George; Jeri (Charlie) Taylor of Rigby, ID; and Joyce (Scott) Harker of Erda, UT.; He is also survived by his brothers; Howard Martin of Nephi, Paul Martin of Las Vegas, Ron Martin of Rexburg, ID, and Gerald and Gail Martin - both of Scipio; nineteen grandchildren, and thirty-two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Donna (Warren) Oakeson, and grandson, Charles Joseph Taylor, and James Tisdale.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013 at the First Ward LDS Chapel, 330 E 500 S., in Fillmore, UT. Friends may call Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013 at Olpin Stevens Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Wed. Aug. 21, from 9:30 to 10:45 am. Interment will be in the Fillmore City Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Stevens Funeral Home.
