Clifford John Brown
Clifford John Brown passed away on February 23, 2013 in Murray, Utah. He was born April 6, 1930, to Leonard J. and Inez Brown in Riverton, Utah. Clifford was a graduate of Murray High School.
Clifford married Betty Jane Caldwell on November 16, 1953, in the Salt Lake Temple. He was in the Navy for 4 years, a Korean War
Veteran. After 30 years he retired from Murray City as Executive Finance Director. He served Murray City as a volunteer fireman
for many years. Clifford served on the boards of Murray City Boys Club, the Trans-Jordan Landfill, Mosquito Abatement, and the Murray City Library. He also oversaw the running of Murray City's 4th of July Fun Days for many years. Clifford was an artist, taught ceramics, and loved floral arranging. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Clifford served in various callings in the LDS Church, including being a Temple Worker.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty; daughters, Janeene (Ray) Timothy, Joanne (Rick) Beckstead, Jeanette (Dan) Larson; sons, Reed (Julie), and David (Joye); 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Leonard; half-sisters, Carrie Atkin, and Vickie; stepsisters, Karen, Barbara and Donna. He was preceded in death by brother, Neil; and grandsons, Kelly and Kerry Timothy.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 1, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at the Murray Hillside Ward, 5600 South 495 East, Murray. Viewings will be held Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State, and 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday, at the church, prior to services.
