Edward "Sonny" Garcia, husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend passed away on February 1, 2013 peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side. Born May 25, 1933; parents, Manuel and Edna Garcia. Sonny worked most of his life in the construction industry. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, going to Wendover, and playing poker. He was a decorated veteran of the Korean War and past president of the Golf Club 207. Sonny married Louise in 1968. Sons, George, Edward, Mike, Lennie and Phillipe.
Sonny is survived by his wife Louise of 45years; siblings, Pat, Gil (Shelley), Lydia (Terry) Manning, Juanita Corbett, and Linda (Davey) Daves, grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as special family, Rob and Paulette Krause, godson Alex, Robbie, Jonathan and Mikey.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Manual "Babe" and Carlos; sons, George and Lennie.
We will always remember Sonny's great generosity and kindness towards those he loved and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, February 4th at the mortuary as well as 1 hour prior to the services.
