Edward William RedWade 6/27/14 ~ 12/28/02 PRATT, KS - Edward William Red Wade, age 88, passed away at his home Dec 28, 2002.He was born June 27, 1914, in Pleasant View, UT to William Monroe Wade and Emma Maycock Wade. He was a resident of Pratt since 1947. He was a retired teacher, coach and farmer. He was reared in The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints, UT. Red was an outstanding high school and college athlete. At Utah State University he received conference and national honors while playing football and basketball from 1935-37. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears but an injury ended his football career. He played two years of semi-pro basketball and ranched before joining the Utah Highway Patrol. During World War II
he served in the Army
Air Corps at Smoky Hill Air Base, Salina, KS. He received a BS degree at Utah State College. He married Georgene E. Baird Feb 4, 1945 in Salina, KS. She survives him.
