ERMA ASHCROFT

Erma Lee Ashcroft 1936 ~ 2011 Our loving mother Erma Lee Ashcroft passed away peacefully in her home with her husband by her side on June 6, 2011. She was born March 24, 1936 in Downey, Idaho to Verdie and Clara Wharton. She married the love of her life August 22, 1953 and later solemnized their love in the Salt Lake Temple. Her family was the joy of her life. She was very proud of her five children, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She enjoyed visiting all her brothers and sisters in Idaho and Utah. She loved spending her time each year at the Salt Lake County Fair. Nothing brought her more joy than seeing her grandchildren with a grand champion steer and she spent her money helping everyone enjoy the Fair. Grandpa and grandma were the kids biggest supporters. Christmas time was also her favorite time of year to care for her family. She worked at 3P Inc. for 36 years and saved her money so she could buy presents for all of us. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a great influence on our lives as she shared her testimony with us. Her kind, loving spirit will always be remembered throughout our lives. As we say goodbye we will have your love in our hearts. Survived by her husband Clyde, children Clydine (Dave) Carlson, Chris (Collette), Rick (Jane), Curtis (Connie) and Tracy, 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, siblings Helen Moser, Ethelene Worton, Doyle (Ilene) Wharton, Darrel (Claudine) Wharton, Wanda King, Lucy Westerberg and Dale (Trina) Wharton. Preceded in death by her parents and sister Aleta Thompson. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Westland 7th Ward building, 7100 So. 3200 W. in West Jordan. A viewing will be held on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 So. 2200 W. and Saturday one hour prior to services at the church. www.broomheadfuneralhome.com
