Gary Kent Cowan

1936 ~ 2013
Our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother in Law, Uncle and Friend; Gary Kent Cowan, age 77, passed away October 6, 2013 in Stansbury Park, Utah.
He was born February 21, 1936, in St. Anthony, Idaho to John Sutton and Vera Shepard Cowan. Gary served his country honorably in the United States Army, during the Korean Conflict. While stationed overseas he met and fell in love with Doreen Thompson in London, England. They married June 15th 1957 and were blessed with three wonderful daughters, they later divorced. Gary later met and married his soul mate, Pamela Thornton on November 4th, 1977. Pam brought with her three wonderful sons. Gary was a salesman by trade, selling everything from paper products, to any and everything involved in the world of golf. Next to his family, Gary had a passion for the game of golf. Gary and Pam settled in Stansbury Park, where their home was on the Stansbury Golf Course. He was not just a player, he was also the course Marshall, and later on he was a caretaker and course maintenance worker. He just loved the game of Golf. Gary is survived by his wife Pam, his daughters, Kim (Mike) Cowdell, Tina (Joe) Larsen and Cory (Keith) Collins. Step sons, Rich (Heather) Bean, Jeff (Christine) Bean and Ed (Traci Burdick) Bean, thirteen Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren.
There will be a viewing for Gary, Saturday October 12th, 2013 at 11:00 am, at Tate Mortuary, 110 S. Main Street, Tooele,UT. A Celebration of his life will follow one hour later, beginning at 12 noon. Burial will be at Stansbury Park Cemetery, Stansbury, UT. (adjacent to The Benson Grist Mill).
