Gary Kervin Johnson

Salt Lake City, Utah-To our wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Gary age 75 passed away on his birthday April 27, 2013 after a long struggle with Leukemia. He passed away at home surrounded by his family. He was born at home to Kervin and Bessie Jensen Johnson. Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He followed in his father's footsteps as a brick mason for 50 years. His passion was the outdoors hunting and fishing with his family. He served in the army for 2 years patrolling the western border of Germany from 1955 - 1957. He met the love of his life Cheryl and they married December 7, 1963. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. He is survived by his wife Cheryl, his three children, Christy, Kevin (Holly) and Rodger and his wonderful sister Lajuana Rhea. He has nine grandchildren and 2 ½ great- grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister.
Services will be held Friday May 3, 2013 at 12:00 at the LDS Riviera Ward on 601 Mansfield Avenue (601 E 3200 S). Viewing will be 2 hours prior to the services. Flowers may be sent to Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Dr., SLC, UT. Interment at Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale UT.
