Gordon Lynn Jessup

Aug 1959 ~ July 2013
Our amazing, dedicated husband, father and grandfather passed away at 53 years of age on July 22, 2013 in West Jordan, UT.
Gordon Lynn Jessup was born on August 3, 1959 in Salt Lake City, UT to David and Noleen Jessup. He married his best friend Monica Denise Zulliger on June 26, 1980 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised four children.
Gordon is best known for his constant selfless service to everyone he met and wonderful personality. He always had a bag of tools in his car ready to help anyone he came across who needed help. A constant tease, he always was trying to scare someone in some way and delighted on Halloween as victims came right to his door. Gordon's life revolved around his family. For years when asked if he is going to watch the Super Bowl he has always responded "Why, are my kids playing in it?" Of course, no one brought out the soft side in Gordon more than his precious daughter, "Rosie" who he would sing to at bedtime. At family outings Grandpa was always pushing the kids on the swing, playing in the sandbox with them, taking them for walks or just following them around taking pictures.
Preceded in death by his beloved mother Noleen, he is survived by his loving wife Monica; his children Lance (Cari), Travis (Rashelle), Ashley, and Trevor (Cedes); his father David Jessup, his siblings Mary Lou (Larry), Joyce (Bill), David (Kathy), Tom (Teri), Tim, Chris (Roberta), Kenny (Heidi); his grandkids Lainey, Lilly, Kaylie, Gordon, Lee, and Donall.
Funeral services will be held on July 27th at 11:00 a.m. at the River 2nd Ward Chapel located at 1380 West 6785 South in West Jordan. A public viewing will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9-10 a.m., followed by family only from 10-10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the same location.
