Kay Andrews

"Animal Lover"
Kay Andrews died peacefully at home on March 13, 2012. Kay was born in South Dakota on Dec. 28, 1943 to Viola and Henry Andrews. Kay married (later divorced) Dwayne Wingert in 1961 and had two wonderful daughters, Kristi and Laurie of whom she was extremely proud. In 1974, Kay moved to Utah and pursued a career in respiratory therapy in which she was very accomplished and highly regarded. Kay was somewhat of a renaissance and nature woman in her varied adventures. She excelled at women's dirt bike competitions, scuba diving in exotic locations, gun shooting, and modeling (prior to Kristi's arrival). Her ultimate passion was her horses - she trained, showed, and bred horses. She ultimately retired in Herriman on a beautiful ranch with all of her beloved animals. Survived by daughters Kristi, Laurie, and her other "daughter" Kathy, grandson Anthony; 2 great grandchildren, Anthony Jr. and Evangelina; many extended family; her adopted family Andy, Nichol, Rachel, and Max Boehme; and many close friends and caring neighbors. Kay will be remembered for her unconditional love, kindness, generosity, her sparkly personality and matching fun sense of fashion. May you rest in peace in heaven with your Mom and Dad. In lieu of flowers, please donate to MadaresGold Horse Rescue (mghr.org) or an animal sanctuary of your choice.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. in the Rose Canyon Stake Center, 7079 Rose Canyon Rd. (approx. 13900 So.) in Herriman where friends may call an hour prior. Interment in the Herriman Cemetery. www.broomheadfuneralhome.com
