Marilyn Miller Adams

Marilyn Miller Adams 1942 ~ 2008 Marilyn Miller Adams, a beloved wife of 46 years, mother of three and grandmother of 13, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2008 of natural causes. Marilyn leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship and caring compassion. Marilyn was born on May 24, 1942 to William Elbert and Ella Miller in Provo, UT. She graduated from Provo High School where she was voted "Miss Friendly", because she was friends to everyone. Later she attended BYU. She met and married the love of her life, Dennis Glenn Adams on June 15, 1962 in the Salt Lake Temple. Marilyn is the mother of three children: Steven Dennis Adams (deceased) (Deanne), Michelle McNeill (Todd), and Teri Hegemann (Ed). Grandmother to 13 grandchildren, with one on the way, she held them as the jewels of her crown. Marilyn was an inspiration to all of us. She was a talented writer and poet, and used that talent to lift others with words of praise, hope and laughter. Although she battled numerous health problems throughout her life, she was an example of optimism and always portrayed a smile and positive attitude. With her gift of talk and laughter, the party always started when she arrived. Marilyn had the ability to communicate with and touch the hearts of so many people. Every person she met felt they were her 'best friend' whether a friend of 50 years or someone she just met in the grocery line. Every one of the grandkids thinks they are 'Grandma's favorite'. How appropriate that her last church calling was as an 'angel of service'. In spite of the chronic pain and physical ailments she dealt with daily, she is now free from her physical constraints. Marilyn is beyond earthly suffering and is now doing (as she referred to it) The Resurrection Boogie! A viewing will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State, Murray, UT, on Friday, Aug. 15, from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the LDS church on 6350 S. Rodeo Ln., Murray, UT on Saturday, Aug 16 at 12 noon. Friends and family may call prior to the funeral, from 11 to 11:45. Burial will be at the Murray City Cemetery. Online condolences: www.jenkins-soffe.com
