Myles (Mike) Charles Crockard, 80, passed away on February 18, 2013 at the Veterans' Administration Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT. He was born on August 18, 1932 in San Francisco, CA to Charles Crockard and Teresa Noonan Crockard.
Mike retired after 20 years in the U.S. Army as a Logistics NCO. He served in Korea from 1951-1953. He also served in Vietnam with the 4th Division from 1966-1967. Later, Mike worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after 18 ½ years.
Mike married Janice Fitzgerald Crockard May 23, 1962. Janice died in 1980. Mike married Nina Barraclough Crockard June 6, 1981. Nina died in 2008.
Mike is survived by two daughters and three sons, Susan Walke of Sandy, UT, Penny Bloomquist of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Nolan Barraclough of Sandy, UT., Scott Crockard of Oregon City, OR and Michael Crockard of Fort Collins, CO; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and two sisters; one great granddaughter.
Mike always kept friends and family laughing and for that we are grateful. Special thanks to loving friend, Sandy Stone, for her loving care and support.
A private Celebration of Life for Mike will be held at a later date for the family at the home of his daughter. Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Veterans Administration.
