Robert Kenneth Reynard

11/11/1974 ~ 3/13/2013
Robert Kenneth Reynard was born in Beaumont, Texas on November 11, 1974 and passed away on March 13, 2013, leaving behind a loving wife and four adoring children. Rob was a tireless advocate, father, and citizen, whose good humor and integrity earned him hundreds of friends and clients. He lived for his children Payton, Ryan, Lincoln, and Sara, and his favorite activity was any activity with them. Never one to give half effort, Rob's diligence was evident in his role as a youth soccer coach. For some, this role might involve showing up to practice and games, but Rob spent his "free time" poring over play diagrams and attending coaching licensure courses. Rob's soccer kids, like his own children, could never doubt his love for them and commitment to their success.
Rob served an honorable mission in the Santa Rosa, California mission, where he learned the Laotian and Thai language, and grew to love an immigrant culture different from his own Texas roots. His dedicated efforts as a missionary prepared the way for his later successes in life.
Rob attended Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah, graduating with honors and serving in numerous academic and civic leadership roles, including Student Regent for the State of Utah's State Board of Regents. While at SUU, Rob met and fell in love with his eternal companion and best friend, Nicole Reynard. Rob and Nicole have been married for 16 years.
Rob attended law school at the University of Utah. Following graduation, he established a successful legal practice in Salt Lake City. In 2010, along with some trusted colleagues, Rob co-founded a law firm, PADRM. Rob approached this new venture with his trademark vigor, assisting the firm as its administrative partner; unsurprisingly, the firm thrived, along with Rob's own practice.
Thanks in part to Rob's frank and pragmatic disposition, those who interacted with him in business knew that they were receiving a fair shake. Those who interacted with Rob socially received even better, as in all endeavors, he was the guy who ordered for the table and picked up the tab. Rob was a native Texan, and though he lived in Utah for 16 years, his love for Texas remained. He was the guy who bought 10 gallons of Blue Bell ice cream for a 3 day weekend visit to Texas. Breakfast was big and buttery. The Ham was basted to perfection. Bedtime stories were full of cowboys and Indians, and memories of a Texas childhood. Our memories of soda on the beach, ski days at Brighton, and fishing on the Teton with Daddy will never leave us.
Rob and his wonderful qualities will be dearly missed by his wife, Nicole, and his four children, Payton, Ryan, Lincoln and Sara. Rob is also survived by his parents, Daryl W. and Linda Reynard of Boerne, Texas, by Nicole's parents, David N. and Gloria Pehrson of Salt Lake City, by his siblings, Kristin (Jared), Jon (Casey), Rachel (Mike), Sarah (Adam), Katy (Ben), and Rebecca (Rocky), and by 28 nieces and nephews.
A funeral service to honor and remember Rob will be held at 11:00am on Monday, March 18, 2013 at the Holladay North Stake Center, 4395 South Albright Drive (2145 East). Friends may visit with the family on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and also on Monday morning at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 am prior to the services. In lieu of flowers or gifts, Nicole knows that Rob would appreciate donations made to the Utah Youth Soccer Association or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
