Ronald Lee Blachley(1940 - 2014)

1940 ~ 2014
Lindy Lou couldn't stand one more minute away from her sweetheart Ronnie, so she came and took him home March 28, 2014. We've lost our strong and charismatic Dad, Poppa, and Friend. Ron was born in Des Moines, Iowa on Feb. 6, 1940 to Maxine and Wilbur Blachley. He graduated from East High School in 1958. On Jan. 7, 1962, he married the love of his life, "and then some", Linda Louise Aller. They were blessed with two beautiful children. Ron and Linda moved to Salt Lake City in 1976, where he continued his passion for the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. As a volunteer at Lee Kay Center, he amassed over 5000 hours of service. Hunter Education became very important to him. Teaching the kids was a great source of happiness and pride for him. In 2002, Ron had the privilege of volunteering at the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. He took on his job of driving the Swedish Curling Team with great honor.
He is preceded in death by his beautiful bride, parents and a grandson. Survived by children Kevin (Laurel), Terri Craig (Jim) and eight grandchildren.
Memorial Service to be held 1:00 pm Thursday, April 3, at Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South, Salt Lake City, UT. Casual, Outdoor attire requested.
