Rutheda E. Dysart Nicholson
1914 ~ 2013
The family of Rutheda E. Dysart Nicholson invite relatives and friends to a celebration of her life, to be held at her home on June 18, 2013 from 4:30-8:00 p.m.
Rutheda, lovingly called "The Mayor of Yalecrest" passed from this earthly life in the beautiful early morning hours of June 13, 2013, with her daughter Linda and granddaughter Jenny by her side. She was born May 16, 1914 in Avoca, Nebraska to Clara E. Arn and Jesse R. Dysart.
She graduated at age eighteen with a B.A. from the University of Nebraska Teachers College. She then moved to Utah where she did post-graduate work at the University of Utah in philosophy and religion. She taught high school math and French. She was an executive secretary for more than 25 years.
She was a charter member of the Art Barn Poets and served on the Board of Directors several years. She published 3 volumes of poetry, the latest one, "The Wanderer" on her 90th birthday. She was an avid bowler and gardener, but her greatest love was her two daughters-Joan L. (David) Racine-deceased and Linda L. (Dale) Fenton. She had a special Love for her 11 grandchildren and her great grandchildren, all of whom survive her. She was affiliated with The Order of the Cross, a vegetarian and spiritual society and was a member of the LDS church.
She was a very special soul who touched many, many lives and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
The family would like to thank Bristol Hospice, especially Debi, for their loving care.
In lieu of flowers donations made be made in her memory to The Humane Society of Utah or Best Friends Animal Society.
