Sarah Elizabeth
Bloomdale Kunz
1981 ~ 2013
Our beautiful Sarah Elizabeth Bloomdale Kunz passed away February 4, 2013 at University Hospital in Salt Lake City, surrounded by family and friends.
Beloved wife, daughter, sister and friend, Sarah was born December 13, 1981 to Randall Bloomdale and Sheila H. Bloomdale. The oldest of four children, Sarah grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 2000. She married Benjamin Richard Kunz on June 23, 2007 at the Gallivan Plaza, and they lived in Salt Lake City until 2010, when they moved to Dayton, Ohio. With her sweet disposition, bubbly personality, and contagious, easy laugh, Sarah was loved by everyone she met. Sarah had a passion for interior and furniture design. She graduated from Salt Lake Community College with an Associate's Degree in Design and won multiple design awards at the Salt Lake Community College Spring Design Show. Sarah showed her love of children as Godmother to Gabe and Dylan Farmer and nanny to Isaac and Jonas Creem-Regehr. She loved designing and decorating, sewing and working on interior design projects, and creating a beautiful home, first in Salt Lake City and later in Dayton. Sarah's free time was spent cooking, gardening, reading, traveling, watching the critters in the backyard, listening to music, spending time with her many friends, and being a wonderful wife to her husband, Ben. She was always looking out for those in need and volunteered at Habitat for Humanity and Boys & Girls Clubs. Sarah had an amazing talent for seeing the beauty in all things, and she shared her love of life with all who knew her.
Sarah is survived by her husband, Dr. Benjamin Richard Kunz; her parents, Randall Bloomdale and Sheila H. Bloomdale; her siblings, Mary Bloomdale, Russell Bloomdale, and Katelyn Bloomdale; life-long friend Melissa Nestoryak; her husband's family, Richard and Stephanie Kunz, Philip and Caroline Ivanov, and Hawley Kunz; her uncles, Mark Hopkins and R. Shawn Price; her cousins, Travis and Tyler Hopkins; her grandmother, Dorothy Bloomdale; and close friends Brady and Katie Farmer.
Sarah's wish to be an organ donor was carried out by the outstanding staff at University Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Road. This will be followed by a gathering of friends and family at 2:00 p.m. in the Olympus Ballroom at the Salt Lake City Marriott City Center, 220 S. State Street at Gallivan Plaza.
