Tamera Wheeler Clapp
1943 ~ 2013
Tamera Wheeler Clapp, our beloved mother, grandma, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, triumphed over Alzheimer's and returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday afternoon, October 2, 2013. Born February 16, 1943 to Thayne and Arzella Wheeler, she was the oldest of eight children. On January 26, 1962, she married the love of her life, Francis Boyd Clapp in Idaho Falls - later solemnized in the Salt Lake temple.
A devoted wife and energetic mother of two, her life was filled with joy, service and love. She was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving faithfully in many church callings over the years. Blessed with youthful energy for much of her life, she was a tireless disciple of the Savior and especially loved serving with the youth and Primary age children. She could often be found taking a walk at 5 am, challenging a grandchild to a foot race, or performing acts of compassion.
Tamera is survived by her sweetheart of 51 years Frank Clapp, her daughters Cindy Akagi (Troy) and Jennifer Perez (Dan); mother Arzella Wheeler; sisters Carol Nasman (Ed), Shelly Crumley (Clint), Chrys Rindlesbach (Ken) Kelly Nevels (Gary); brothers Jesse Wheeler (Chris), Scot Wheeler (Nikki); sister-in-law Isabel (Bob); and grandchildren Taylor, Jordan, Cailey, Jade, Evan, Grant, Afton and Andru. She was preceded in death by her father, Thayne Wheeler and brother and best friend Sgt. Major Robert Thayne Wheeler.
The family would like to thank the staff at Carrington Court for their round-the-clock care of Tamera. We would also like to thank Dr. Kate Wilson, Millcreek Hospice and Casssandra for your professional and personal care. We will be forever grateful for your service to mom!
