VERNA WILDE

Verna Roundy Wilde 1924 ~ 2010 Verna Roundy Wilde, 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday September 19, 2010 to return to her Heavenly Father. She was born in Peoa, Utah on August 2, 1924 to George Spencer and Hannah Agnes Roundy. She grew up on the family ranch, where she learned to love all animals and the importance of hard work and dedication. She attended and graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Education. Verna was married in the Salt Lake City Temple to Walden Nix Wilde on November 25, 1955. She was dedicated to her teaching career and taking care of her family. She was able to travel and lived a long, wonderful life. She taught responsibility and diligence and we will always treasure her memory. She was passionate and active in the LDS faith, always striving to serve her Father in Heaven. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her sons and her grandchildren. She always went out of her way to make sure we were all together as a family. Verna is lovingly, and adoringly remembered by her husband, Walden; her son and daughter-in-law George and Sally Wilde; her son Robert Wilde; her dear grandchildren Jessica, Amy, Zakary, Brooke, Shadrak, and Nikolas; her sister True Field; her beloved nieces and nephews Hannah, Joyce, John, and Lewis; and many extended family members and loving neighbors. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and younger brother John. We want to deeply thank all of those who made her life a treasured, more enjoyable experience, and to those who have been by her side during her last months with us. From her grandchildren, we love you and will miss you and want you to know that you will always be our sunshine. You will be in our hearts until we meet again. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gunderson LDS Ward Chapel at 1950 East Gunderson Lane (4101 South) in Salt Lake City. Family and friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. in the Peoa Cemetery, Peoa, Utah.
